NEWS UPDATES ON UKRAINE CRISIS
Most of you would have seen the latest news about Russian invasion to Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea which was launched by Russian President Putin in the wake of the civil protests against the Ukrainian government in Ukraine, which saw President Yanukovych fleeing to Russia, and leaving over 100 people dead. At this moment, Russian troops have been actively moving inside the Ukrainian territory, whilst the Kremlin-imposed parliament of the Crimean autonomy has resolved to join the Russian Federation, in breach of the Ukrainian Constitution, whilst the Russian parliament has just adopted a simplified procedure for annexation of new territories to Russia.
The Russian government has launched a fully-blown information war, designed to discredit the current Ukrainian temporary government (which has been formed pending elections on 25 May 2014) and therefore delay/deter Western powers from assisting Ukraine. At the same time, Russian people are fed heavily biased propaganda in the best traditions of the Cold War, designed to persuade them that Ukrainians need to be saved by Russian military forces from the “evil US and EU” which allegedly sponsor/support Ukrainian nationalists. Therefore, any information about the Ukraine crisis has to be treated with caution.
UBCC will continue supporting the Ukrainian government, work on building the trust of investors in the City and further promote bilateral trade and cultural relations. UBCC is committed to bring to you factual information from unbiased sources to enable you to form your own opinion about the events in Ukraine, and in particular the business and economic aspects.
