Ukrainian-British City Club proudly presents conference “Ukraine s Accession to WTO: Challenges and Opportunities” which will take place at 6th Floor, 88 Wood Street, London EC2V 7QS on Wednesday 14 May 2008, hosted by Bryan Cave LLP.

Ukraine is a fast growing emerging market, which is becoming even more attractive to foreign investors in light of its upcoming WTO accession and other factors including the economic downturn in Western Europe and the US. In its WTO accession, Ukraine has committed to extensive market access concessions in sectors including agriculture, manufactured goods, services trade, intellectual property protection and overall reform of its commercial environment. Ukraine completed its accession negotiations on 5 February 2008, and will join the WTO after the Protocol of Accession is ratified by the Ukrainian parliament on 4 July 2008.

UBCC is honoured to present a panel of high-level officials and experts who will offer valuable insights on Ukraine s WTO accession. They will discuss the opportunities as well as the potential pitfalls of Ukraine s changing trade and investment regime post-WTO accession.

Guest Speakers:

Mr Valeriy Pyatnytskiy, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Ukraine s lead negotiator during the WTO accession talks

Mr John Cooke, Chairman, Liberalisation of Trade in Services (LOTIS) Committee, International Financial Services London

Mr Mark Nguyen
, Senior Advisor in the International Trade Group, Bryan Cave LLP
