Ukrainian-British City Club launched at the Houses of Parliament
The Ukrainian-British City Club (UBCC) had its launch reception on 24
November 2005 in the Houses of Parliament in London. 75 members of the UBCC
and guests from the United Kingdom and Ukraine were in attendance, including
representatives of large business corporations and small businesses, members
of British parliament, representatives of Ukrainian Embassy in the UK and of
the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain.
The reception was opened by Mr Taras Chaban, Director of the UBCC and
Vice-President at the investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. The
speakers at the launch presentation were Mr John Grogan, Member of
Parliament for Selby, Mr Pavlo Klimkin, Minister Plenipotentiary at the
Embassy of Ukraine in London and Mrs Irina Tymczyszyn, Director of the UBCC
and an associate with the London office of international law firm Salans.
Over 75 members of the UBCC and guests attended the event. Among the attendees were members of the Advisory Council of the UBCC Lord Patrick Gillford, Mr Christopher Foyle and Mrs Tamara Demydenko; representatives of the UBCC Partners – Mr Volodymyr Mamchenko of the Trade Mission at the Embassy of Ukraine in Great Britain, Mr Stephen Butler and Mrs Ilona Gilbert of Adam Smith Institute, Mr Lionel Rosenblatt and Mr Robert Starr of Salans law firm, Mr Christopher Gilbert of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, Mr Christopher Goodwin of International Financial Services.
